Installing PolarisBiosEditor is easy and straightforward. All you need to do is download the appropriate version for your computer, then follow the on-screen instructions for installation. Once installed, you can start setting up your miners and algorithms to get started mining as soon as possible!

official Polaris Bios Editor (PBE) is a program for manually tuning your BIOS - flashing your graphics cards on the Polaris architecture. Specifically, the utility allows to modification of video card operating parameters (timings, GPU frequency, core voltage and other useful characteristics), which makes mining more productive and thus more profit per unit of time.

PBE is compatible with 99% of video cards (AMD RX 460/470/480/550/560/570/580/590) and suits all memory types, including Elpida, Micron, Samsung, Hynix. Program version 1.7.5 is totally free and available for download on the official site, but there is also its advanced version Polaris Bios Editor PRO 3 which gives the biggest gain in hashrate, but for maximum efficiency, you should do it manually.

What PBE can do
The utility has fixed bugs, updated timings for video cards, and added support for a number of memories. The very first 1.4 and 1.5 versions are already outdated, 1.6 and all its versions may not support device IDs and give errors, so we recommend to download only 1.7 and above.

IMPORTANT: use only official sources to download the program. Forums and other resources can damage the security of your system.

Polaris Bios Editor 1.7.6 has the following features:

BIOS modifications to improve your BIOS.
graphics card timings settings.

Access to the database of built-in timings from developers, so that inexperienced miners can also effectively tune video card operating parameters.
The ability to quickly and easily copy timings, and then edit them to meet specific requirements.
Functions for setting graphics processor voltage.
Unblock additional shaders on AMD 480 series GPUs.
How to use Polaris Bios Editor
And now let's see how to start using Polaris Bios Editor.

1. Downloading
Download the latest version of Polaris Bios Editor (the blue-button above).

2. Prepare
Unzip the archive into a folder on your computer.

IMPORTANT: when you make changes in your video card BIOS settings there is a chance that the system will be unstable, so it is very important to save a backup of your current configuration to rollback the BIOS to the base settings. We recommend that you use the GPU-Z program to save your settings and back up the BIOS.

Click the button to the right of the BIOS Version field value, then save the file and back it up. This is your original (from the manufacturer) file and you can install it back to your video card if something goes wrong.
3. setup.
Open the installation file PolarisBioseditor.exe. Before launching the utility will show a window from the developers where you should click "OK".

After opening the window press OPEN BIOS. Open your BIOS (Which you saved in step 2 with the help of GPU-Z or ATIFlash). The program will load your firmware and show the working timings of your video card (lower right window).

Polaris Bios Editor setup
Under this window, there is a button "One Click Timing Patch", when you click it the program will automatically select the new timings for your GPU. In the new window click "OK".

The program is already loaded with optimized timings for most models of video cards, this button will apply them
New timings for your video card are set.

Important: To find out for sure if the upgraded configuration works, it is worth testing the system for a while. MOMAY and record the indicators of mining and stability of the system. If they are the same as before (no performance improvement), try updating the timings again. If the system is unstable, try lowering the overclocking.

For advanced users, there are GPU and Memory fields where advanced (manual) settings are available. If you don't have the skills and knowledge to do so, it is better not to touch these settings, or you will risk burning your system. These settings are responsible for powering the core and memory at different frequencies and their allowable temperatures.

4.      Saving
For every new BIOS configuration file you update you can save and then use them as needed (you may want to keep several different files).

With Polaris Bios Editor (PBE) you will get the best performance without complicated and complicated video card settings.

Next, you need to patch the system with the Atikmdag patcher, if you haven't already done so, to remove the limitations of the drivers
