  • HOW TO USE LINX

CPU performance is a complicated computer characteristic, which depends on many variables. It should be evaluated comprehensively, excluding the influence of other computer components on the result. The LinPack tests are intended to determine the speed of solving a dense system of linear equations at maximum CPU load. They show the number of operations on 64-bit floating-point numbers that the CPU can perform.

The algorithms themselves were developed by Intel in the late 1970s, modified several times, and intended for professionals. It was only possible to work with the program through the console. A Russian programmer and overclocking enthusiast A. Gusev was found who wrote a GUI graphical shell for LinPack tests and named it LinX.
