Hackers have stolen $3.37 billion in cryptocurrency since the beginning of the year
In November alone, there were 29 hacks that stole $391 million in digital assets from crypto platforms
In the 11 months since the beginning of the year, hackers have stolen about $3.37 billion worth of cryptocurrency, PeckShield reported. In the three fall months alone, crypto platforms lost $1.3 billion.
Specifically, there were 17 hacks in September, taking a total of $171 million, including an attack on marketmaker Wintermute that affected 90 different assets involved in DeFi transactions. That hack alone resulted in the theft of $160 million.
In October, hackers stole $760.2 million worth of cryptocurrency in 44 attacks. This month, there was a $544 million BNB Chain hack, but attackers were only able to withdraw $100 million of it, the other part of the funds was blocked by developers.
In November, there were 29 hacks that stole $391 million in various digital assets. These attacks include the Derbit wallet hack and the theft of assets from FTX accounts in the first half of the month.
